She's Not Sorry

Mary Kubica's latest will keep you turning the pages all night!

She's Not Sorry was my first book by Mary Kubica, and I binged it! I was invested from the start, with the attention-grabbing prologue, the intricate weaving of multiple storylines, the intriguing plot, and the mounting tension all culminating in a sleepless night of reading. But it was a night well spent!

Set in Chicago, the story revolves around Meghan, an ICU nurse, and the mystery surrounding her unconscious patient. The patient's supposed accident might not be so accidental after all. Exciting and well-paced, Kubica's skillful misdirection and the way she built a sense of impending danger kept me on the edge of my seat. I was thrilled by the unexpected twists and the shady characters, all of which kept me guessing! I felt genuine heart-pounding fear for Meghan a few times. I got so wrapped up in the unsettling atmosphere of the story.

Each chapter ended on some cliffhanger, making this unputdownable, especially the closer I got to the end. The medical elements in the book were well-done and more than just a backdrop, as they helped illustrate aspects of Meghan's character. An entertaining read and one I would recommend to thriller lovers!

Don't miss the release of She's Not Sorry on April 2, 2024!

My steep was iced Blood Orange Hibiscus from Adagio Tea tart and refreshing!

I read this as a Buddy Read with friends and it was the perfect book for that. It was so much fun to compare theories and discuss that ending with friends!

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row Books, NetGalley and The Hive for the free book!

PUBLISHER'S SYNOPSIS:

An ICU nurse accidentally uncovers a patient’s frightening past in this chilling thriller.

Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom to a teenage daughter and working as a full time nurse. While on duty at the hospital one day, a patient named Caitlin arrives in a coma with a traumatic brain injury, having jumped from a bridge and plunging over twenty feet to the train tracks below.

But when a witness comes forward with shocking details about the fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin  pushed  and if so, by whom and why?

Meghan has always tried to stay emotionally detached from her patients, but this time, she mistakenly lets herself get too close until she’s deeply entangled in Caitlin’s and her family’s lives. Only when it’s too late, does she realize that she and her daughter could be the next victims.
