I look forward to each new Finlay story, and this one did not disappoint! This is the fourth book in the series, and they do need to be read in order as parts of the storyline continue from book to book. This one picks up right where book three left off and sees Finlay, Vero, and the regular characters trek to Atlantic City to locate Vero's crush, Javi, who has been kidnapped, cut a deal with a loan shark, and locate a stolen car.
Finlay and Vero are two of my favorite characters across any genre, and their strong friendship, banter, and ability to roll with the chaos are unmatched. They are relatable, fun and funny. Cosimano writes witty dialogue for these two, and Vero always makes me laugh. They are quick-thinking and quick with one-liners, and I adore spending time with them!
Cosimano is an engaging writer whose bingable books are brimming with hilarious scenes while delivering solidly plotted mysteries. The comedy is a mix of silly and dark humor and laugh-out-loud funny. I enjoyed the Atlantic City setting, how the whole cast ended up there, and the ensuing misadventures from everyone being in such close quarters. This one also dials up the romance between Finlay and Nick.
The mystery is action-packed, suspenseful, and entertaining from start to finish. The resolution was satisfying, but then, oh my goodness, that very last twist! I cannot wait to see how that plays out in book five! I absolutely loved this!

Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.
Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.
