Werewolf For Hire

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

Exciting start to a new series with a novella that packs a punch!

Read This: Werewolf For Hire by Sue Denver

Sara Flores has recently gotten her PI license. It's mostly a cover to keep from being too heavily investigated if she's found near dead bodies. Sara is a fairly new werewolf and doesn't need the heat. However, her friend is in danger and needs Sara's help. Sara's a PI for real now. Can she outsmart the bad guys, keep her friend safe and keep her werewolf side secret?

I enjoy books with well-plotted mysteries and exciting supernatural elements, and I was happy to find both in this fast-paced novella! Sara is a tough, smart, and lethal but likable MC. And she's surrounded by a solid group of secondary characters, including another strong female character, Lillian, a former military war vet dealing with PTSD. I also loved Mason, Sara's brilliant IT tech; he gets some great lines!

The werewolf aspect and how Sara must keep her secret is only one facet of the story. Primarily this is a detective book with Sara having to hit the ground running with her investigative business and the dangerous case at hand, which features a despicable bad guy and some unexpected twists. Denver packs a lot of action into 140 pages in this quick, entertaining read. It was just long enough to make me want more werewolves, so this is a series I hope to read more of!

Thank you to Sue Denver and Booksprout for the opportunity to review this ARC. I enjoyed it!

Synopsis: Will her first case be her last?

Book One (novella) of the Sara Flores, Werewolf P.I. Series

Lillian Knudsen, a war vet, amputee, and local shooting range owner, has someone out to kill her, but she's clueless as to who. Thankfully, she isn't clueless about where to turn for help.

Werewolf Sara Flores got her P.I. license for one reason — to give cops an excuse why they might find her near dead bodies — lots of dead bodies. It turns out evildoers who attack innocents aren’t interested in giving them up. Not without a fight

Sara never planned to take on cases, but when Lillian asks — Sara can’t say no. Soon she’s up to her snout in hired assassins and explosives — because money is no object to the man who wants Lillian — and now Sara too — dead.

Nobody’s going to hire a P.I. who gets her first client murdered. Nor a P.I. who ends up dead herself. But Sara’s up against a man who’s never lost.
