After That Night

NYT bestselling author Karin Slaughter's 11th book in the Will Trent series is gripping!

Slaughter delivers another well-written, intricately plotted, and tense thriller! Be warned that it is graphic and disturbing as Slaughter unflinchingly explores violence against women, the devastation of the victims, and the flawed system that struggles to bring perpetrators to justice.

Balancing the darker parts of the story are romance, humor, the dynamic and well-rounded MCs, and a great cast of returning secondary characters. Slaughter's writing style immediately hooks you and immerses you in this world. I always enjoy the fascinating details of the investigative and medical aspects of these books. Fast-paced, chilling, and twisty, fans of the series will enjoy this continuation of Will and Sara's journey. It kept me on the edge of my seat! However, this would work as a stand-alone too.

As she has the previous books in this series, the talented Kathleen Early narrates and delivers another fantastic performance! Bringing every character fully to life, she nails their voices, personalities, and emotional nuances. Her narration amplified the tension and suspensefulness of the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to review this ALC.
